Thoughts...

I'm excited that October is finally here. One month from today Alexis will be home!!! We just got through watching the last session of conference this afternoon and it was really good. I love when things are said just at the right time. I really enjoyed the talks on the importance of a mission and it made me think about Alexis and how she is over in England serving the Lord. I also thought back to my mission and what a rough and rewarding time it was all at the same time.

I liked the talks about hearts and what frame of mind our heart is in. Definitely something I can work on. I liked the comparison about the heart transplant and how we need to constantly be working on the attitude of our hearts.

I also liked the talk about being gospel neutral. I know that the talk was directed to parents, but I think that it applies to everyone. I was just thinking about that this past week. Sometimes I feel like I need to be more proactive with showing people what the gospel is all about.
Conference this weekend was a special experience for me. It'll be nice to receive the Ensign with all the talks next month to review. :)

911 5K

Last weekend My sister Kristen and I went on a 5K run. It was for a good cause and it was a lot of fun. It wasn't even too hot outside which was nice. The run was supposed to be motivating for us to get back into shape and to start working out more...it has seemed to work for Kristen...but has not been working so well for me. My motivation for working out has been put to a stop for some reason. I know that exercise is good for the body, mind, and spirit, but at the same time, I'm just not that interested. I'm sure I'll get back into the swing of things real soon though hopefully. What motivates you?

Utah Birthday Trip

John and I went to Utah for a couple of days this past week to celebrate my Birthday. It was a lot of fun. We went to the Grand Canyon and Zion's National Park. The Grand Canyon was freezing cold. Leave it to me to wear shorts and sandals not even thinking about the weather...lol The next day we went to Zion's and the weather was much nicer. In fact, it was way warmer than we thought it was going to be. We did a hike called Angels Landing. It was a lot of work, but worth it in the end. Here are some pictures. :)

For my actual Birthday, I got a Tiffany's bracelet and a set of Callaway golf clubs. I feel slightly spoiled this Birthday... :)

So...I haven't blogged in forever. Life has gotten really busy and I have lost track of time. Here are some of the things that have been going on for us within the last month. :)

Happy Birthday Alexis!!! Hope you had a great one!!! We still need to mail out your package...Alexis is going to getting home in the first week of November. We are excited about having her come home!!!

John and I were called to teach Sunday School to the 16 and 17 year olds. It was a lot of fun today. They know their scriptures. Thank goodness for Seminary.

Here is a recent picture of our dogs Charles and Jack. They are the cutest ever and make us laugh daily. :)

Scotty boy leaves on his mission next week. We are so excited for him. We had him come up and spend some time with us out at the Lake. This picture was taken when he woke up.

John has been taking me out shooting the last couple of weeks at the shooting range. It's pretty fun and surprisingly...I'm not to shabby. I think that John was a little surprised.

Here is a picture of our nephew Wyatt with our dog Charles. We were babysitting and the two of them got along great. :)

Here is a picture of John and I when we went to the Zoo. The Phoenix zoo is pretty neat. I have never been there.

Here is a picture of one of my roomates Lisa, with her cute son Robert. It was fun to finally meet him. They live in Utah.

Hope that everyone has a fantastic week!!!

2nd Anniversary

John and I have been married for two years now. It's crazy how time flies. Tonight we went to a nice restaurant in Chandler that I had never been to. It was called the Keg. It was really good. Then when we came home, John surprised me with a Tiffany's necklace. It was a very fun day. I love John so much and glad that we are married. :)

Fun Times in Tucson

Tonight I went down to Tucson to celebrate Kristen and Kate's Birthday. It was a lot of fun. My Aunt Susie made the best chimichangas. While we were down there, all of the girls took a picture together. I think that it turned out pretty cute. :)

Worms Don't Cause Ringworm

So...I totally have Ringworm.(this is not a picture of me by the way) I think that I may have gotten it from the gym. To be honest...I was really grossed out when I found it. It is in the center of my neck. Yuck. I have named her Molly. Molly is disappearing as we speak. I just wish she wasn't visible.

The Temple

My little brother Scott went through the Temple this morning. It was a neat experience. The Temple sure is beautiful. Scott is getting ready to go to the Philippians Mission. He looked too cute in his suit. We wish that Alexis were here to join us today. We were glad to have family and friends there to join us. It was a special occasion for our family. :)

New Shoes

Last night I bought a pair of new shoes. We were at the store and I was totally kidding when I showed John the shoes. They were so bright. I tried them on as a joke and fell in love. They are crazy, but very fun. :)

Delilah

Does anyone remember the radio show called Delilah? It's generally on at night time on a soft rock station. John and I were driving back from Woodruff this weekend and it was the only thing on. I loved Delilah growing up. John could not really see what the big deal was about the radio talk show. It brought back memories of when I was younger. Kristen and I used to stay up late with my parents cordless phone and try to dedicate songs. We never got through. We thought that Delilah was only in Tucson. Come to find out, it's the whole country. lol Kristen would always try to dedicate a song to her boyfriend. I on the other hand, would make things up to say on the Delilah show. (I didn't really date a whole lot) I was walking the dog last night and again listened to the Delilah show. It made my walk a little slower, but it was still fun. :)

Pink Eyed Puppy

I bet you didn't know that you could catch pink eye from a dog? Let me first introduce you to the newest member of our family. Pictured below is our new puppy Jack. For those of you who didn't know, our dog Dean had to be put down due to lung disease. Dean passed away a couple weeks ago. We decided to get a new dog because our other dog Charles was getting lonely. Let me introduce Jack. He is a 8 week old Boxer puppy. He is the cutest ever. He was acting normal for about a week and then he looked like he was coming down with allergies or something. His eyes were all red. This was on Friday. On Monday (Memorial Day), I woke up with a swollen eye. On Tuesday I went into the doctor and found out that I had pink eye. My doctor said that pink eye can be passed from animal to human. I honestly thought it was a joke. I finally broke down and took the puppy to the vet and confirmed that he had pink eye as well. So yes,I caught pink eye from a dog. It has been a long week in the Bowler house of being sick. We are glad to finally be feeling better.
